    • Lab fees for mold samples range from $40 to $120 per sample, depending on the type of test being conducted and the desired return time. Please contact us for further details related to other types of testing.
  2. Is there an additional charge for lab testing?

    • Yes, lab testing is an additional cost on top of the inspection fee. We charge you what the lab charges us (materials, shipping and taxes are extra). These fees are itemized separately in the final invoice.
  3. Can I get an estimate before the inspection?

    • Yes, you can request a detailed estimate that includes the base inspection fee, potential travel costs, and any anticipated lab fees.

Common Questions

  1. What if I can’t afford the full inspection and lab fees?

    • Discuss your budget with us. We offer a tiered approach where you start with a basic inspection and add testing later as needed.
  2. Do you work with landlords or property managers?

    • Yes, but gaining access to certain areas may require the tenant’s cooperation and the landlord’s permission.
  3. Will the inspection identify all potential health risks?

    • While the inspection is comprehensive, it’s important to understand that it may not catch every potential issue, especially if certain areas are inaccessible.
  4. What happens after the inspection?

    • The consultant will provide a detailed report outlining findings, recommendations, and next steps. If lab tests were conducted, these results will also be included.
  5. Can I conduct the sampling myself?

    • Yes, in some cases, we can guide you through the process of collecting samples yourself, which can then be sent to a lab for analysis.
  6. Is the inspection report easy to understand?

    • Yes, the report is written in a clear and accessible manner. The consultant will also be available to answer any questions you have about the findings.
  7. How do I know if I need an inspection?

    • Anyone who wants too live in a healthy environment should get an inspection (in our humble opinion). Even moreso if: occupants have persistent health issues and/or if there are musty odors, visible mold, high humidity levels, and unexplained electrical issues present.
  8. What if the inspection reveals serious issues?

    • The consultant will provide recommendations for remediation and may refer you to specialists for further action.
  9. What qualifications does a building biologist have?

    • Building biologists typically undergo extensive training in environmental health, indoor air quality, and building science. They are certified through recognized organizations and have a strong foundation in identifying and addressing health risks in buildings.
